Smart Driver Assist Technology

5 Star Safety Rating

Ranger includes a network of safety features and smart driver assistance technology, working together to protect you. Drive with confidence knowing that the Ford Ranger has achieved the maximum ANCAP safety rating of 5-stars

Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (iACC) with Stop & Go, Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Centering2

On selected models, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Centering allows you to maintain a preset speed and distance from the vehicle ahead, with Traffic Sign Recognition automatically adjusting to the posted speed limit. If traffic slows in front of you, the vehicle will automatically slow down and come to a stop and then return to your set cruising speed once traffic clears. Plus, Lane Centering helps keep your vehicle centered in the lane.

Lane Centering

Lane Centering2

Lane Centering scans lane markings to help alert you to move safely back to the centre of your lane.

Stop and Go2

Maintains your speed when you’re on the road and can slow down or stop your Ranger if traffic ahead has stopped or slowed.

Traffic Sign Recognition2

Ranger automatically adjusts the cruise set speed to the posted speed limit.

Lane Keeping System with Road Edge Detection and Driver Alert System

Lane Keeping System with Road Edge Detection and Driver Alert System3

Designed with road-trips in mind, Ranger can provide gentle steering support to help prevent the vehicle from drifting off the road. So advanced, it's been designed to detect unmarked paved roads with soft verges, gravel hard shoulders and grass edges.

360-Degree Camera

360-Degree Camera4

On selected models, you can use the large centre display to choose from multiple camera views to see more than ever. This includes a bird’s-eye top-down view, 180-degree front and rear split view and rear trailer hitch view for easier and safer parking and maneuvering.

Pre-Collision Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)

Pre-Collision Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)5

Ranger can alert you to a potential collision with a vehicle, cyclist or pedestrian in front of you and now, also while turning at intersections. If you don’t take corrective action, the brakes can apply automatically.

Evasive Steer Assist

Evasive Steer Assist6

If Pre-collision Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)5 determines the distance is too short to brake in time to avoid a collision, your Ranger will provide steering support (without steering for you) to help you avoid the obstacle.

Reverse Brake Assist

Reverse Brake Assist7

Your Ranger can detect if there is an object or pedestrian behind you or a vehicle about to cross at the rear. It will sound an alert and if you don't react in time will brake for you.

Active Park Assist 2.0

Active Park Assist 2.08

Standard on Wildtrak and Raptor, Active Park Assist 2.0 helps reduce the stress of parking by taking over the steering, shifting, braking and acceleration to navigate parallel or perpendicular parking spaces with ease. The system also includes Park Out Assist, which provides assistance when exiting a parallel parking spot.

Matrix LED Headlamps with Auto Leveling & Dynamic Bending

Matrix LED Headlamps with Auto Leveling & Dynamic Bending9

Ranger's C-Clamp Matrix LED headlamps, standard on Raptor & optional on Wildtrak, don't just look great, they are smart and adaptive. The Matrix function can change the direction and intensity of light, meaning not only does Ranger illuminate around corners, it adapts your high beam when approaching other vehicles.

9 Airbags

9 Airbags

In a first for Ranger, there are now 9 airbags standard, including front, side, knee and full-length curtain (driver and passenger) and far side driver front airbags, providing extra protection from side impacts.

Blind Spot Monitoring with Cross Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage10

Available on pick-up models, Ranger takes blind-spot-detection to the next level. This feature helps you change lanes, alerts you when a vehicle enters the blind spot zone and will even resist the lane change if the driver misses the warning. Cross-Traffic Alert warns of traffic approaching from the sides when the vehicle is in reverse. It’s added peace of mind and makes for safer and less stressful driving.
