Safety

Keeping a watchful eye on the road

From alerting you to potential collision hazards, to clever systems that help you to maintain traction and stability, the Escape comes loaded with safety tech to help keep you safer on the road.

AEB with Pedestrian Detection

Every Escape model features Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian and Cyclist detection1. Always scanning ahead, AEB alerts you of potential collisions and applies the brakes if an unexpected danger appears in fron1 of the car1.

Emergency assistance

SYNC® 3 is there for you when you need it most. If you’re in an accident that activates the airbags or shuts the fuel pump off, Emergency Assistance uses your paired smartphone to dial emergency services and provide them with your GPS location2.

180° split view camera

The rear view camera with 180-degree split view activates automatically once switched into reverse. Acting like an extra pair of eyes, the camera can reveal objects you might have missed and help you navigate tight parking spaces.

Traffic Sign Recognition1

The Escape’s front sensors scan the road ahead for traffic signs and display the current speed limit on the digital instrument cluster, helping you to avoid a hefty speeding fine

Adaptive Cruise Control1,3

Just set your cruising speed and let the Escape’s radar monitor the traffic ahead and slow down or speed up accordingly.

Active Park Assist1

At the press of a button, Active Park Assist will help you find the right size parking spot and steer the car into position while you focus on controlling the brakes.

Reverse Cross Traffic Alert1

Reverse Cross Traffic Alert uses sensors to monitor traffic in your blind spot and warn you before reversing out of a parking spot or switching lanes.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring

The Escape helps you avoid being caught with a flat tyre. The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System alerts you when the pressure is low, so you can manually check the pressure and reinflate them to the accurate level.

Lane Keeping Aid1

If you accidentally drift over the lane, the Escape will apply gentle steering torque and a warning vibration to guide you back if needed.

Electronic Stability Control

Electronic Stability Control

As roads get busier, the need to make sudden manoeuvres to avoid an accident are increasing. ESC1 is designed to help prevent skidding or sliding sideways when taking evasive action or in bad conditions.
